The Department of Fuel and Energy Technologies Engineering at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a practical scientific workshop at the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center titled: “Solar Energy and Research Instruments Used in Analyzing Renewable Energy Systems.” The workshop aimed to enhance students’ practical and theoretical understanding by offering hands-on exposure to the latest equipment and research projects conducted at the center in the fields of solar energy, hybrid systems, and energy storage. The workshop was supervised by: – Asst. Lecturer Hameed Baqir Karaji Habeeb – Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center – Asst. Lecturer Mohammed Sabah Malik – Department of Fuel and Energy Technologies Engineering – Asst. Lecturer Fatima Al-Zahraa Adnan – Department of Fuel and Energy Technologies Engineering The workshop included practical demonstrations and detailed explanations of solar energy system components, their operation mechanisms, types of solar panels, inverters, batteries, methods of efficiency calculation, determination of the Maximum Power Point (MPP), and the impact of environmental factors on system performance. Productive scientific discussions took place between students and the supervising staff, addressing challenges facing renewable energy applications in Iraq, the importance of supporting scientific research, and strengthening practical training to advance the clean-energy sector and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the conclusion of the workshop, the supervisors praised the efforts of the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center for supporting the educational process and providing an integrated research environment that allows students to apply their knowledge practically, preparing a new generation of engineers capable of leading Iraq’s transition toward sustainable energy.
