A Training Workshop on the Arabic Calligraphy Aesthetics & Technical Skills Development

As a Part of the efforts exerted by Rehabilitation, Employment & Follow-Up Division at Al-Mustaqbal University that aim to enabling Students and Graduates to acquire Specific Skills with which they would promote their Competing Opportunities at Labor Market, in addition to reviving Traditional Arts through the adoption of Contemporary & Innovative Techniques, College of Fine Arts has organized a Training Workshop entitled “Aesthetics of Arabic Calligraphy” The Workshop however has been targeting Students & Academics of Art Education & Design Departments, with the aim of enhancing their Artistic Skills and expanding their Professional Horizons in the Fields of Visual Arts. It is remarkable to note that the Workshop has been conducted by Senior Calligrapher, Mr. Husam Al-Shallah, during which he has reviewed Arabic Calligraphy Origins and its Types, with a Special Focus on the Calligraphy that has been used in writing the Holy Quran. Besides, Participants have actively participated in the discussions raised regarding the challenges that Arabic-Islamic Calligraphy has faced throughout history, whereas Mr. Al-Shalah has proposed Practical Solutions with which this Ancient Precious Art would be developed and preserved for Future Generations. The Workshop after all has been featured with unprecedented interaction between the Senior Calligrapher and the Participants, as the Discussions have focused on the vitality of including Arabic Calligraphy as part of Educational Curricula, and thus enhancing its role in the establishment of Visual & Cultural Identity. Furthermore, we are obliged to note that Teachers & Artists Role in transmitting this Artistic Legacy to Future Generations has also been taken into consideration, with an emphasis on the fact that Fine Arts Students do constitute the Basic Pillar in the Development of Educational and Creative Arts. Finally, the Workshop has been ended with a meaningful argument on how to employ Arabic Calligraphy Skills at Labor Market, where Mr. Al-Shalah has clarified that mastering this Art shall open broad horizons for Students and Graduates in Fields such as Graphic Design, Media, Visual Arts, and Artistic Education, in addition to the possibility of establishing Artistic and Entrepreneurial Projects Specialized in Arabic Calligraphy This Workshop has participated in the Achievement of Several Sustainable Goals, including SDG 4: Quality Education & its Promotion SDG 8: Decent Work & Economic Growth _ Enhancement of Employment Opportunities for Graduates SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities _ Provision of Equal Training and Employment Opportunities for all Graduates SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals _ Reinforcement of Cooperation between Universities at both Private and Public Sectors regarding Graduates Rehabilitation In general, the Workshop has had an active role in the Empowerment of Graduates, in addition to the Achievement of Professional Success being in line with Sustainable Development Goals. #Al-Mustaqbal_University_towards_a_Sustainable_University #Training_Workshops #Skills_Development_&_Labor_Market #Arabic_Calligraphy_Aesthetics #Qualifications_&_Employment
