This initiative comes under the directives of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of the University, who emphasized the importance of fostering global partnerships and engaging with international academic institutions. As part of these efforts, the university participated in the second virtual meeting with the Secretariat of the Board of the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) via Zoom, to follow up on the planning and coordination for the upcoming event.

Representing the university in the meeting were Prof. Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and Dr. Sameer Badrawi, Director of Cultural Relations at the university presidency. The attendees reviewed outcomes of the previous meeting and reaffirmed the importance of continued collaboration to ensure a high-level, impactful academic event.

The Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) is a non-profit international organization comprising over 150 universities and academic institutions from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. It aims to promote academic integration across geopolitical regions and facilitate the exchange of educational best practices. Al-Mustaqbal University is a key member of the EURAS Board, reflecting its strong academic standing.

Scheduled to span two days, the EURAS Academy Forum will bring together distinguished representatives from European and Asian universities, a significant number of Iraqi institutions, as well as government officials, policymakers, and stakeholders in higher education and scientific research.

The forum will address strategic themes that are currently a top priority in the higher education sector, including: Academic Accreditation, Quality Assurance, Global Rankings, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These topics will form the basis for discussions aimed at advancing educational policy and sharing global expertise.

This initiative demonstrates Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to international academic openness, supporting excellence in education and research, and enhancing Iraq’s position on the global higher education map.
