As part of its unwavering commitment to promoting environmental sustainability and strengthening its position as a leading academic institution in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Al-Mustaqbal University welcomed the field follow-up committee of the “Sustainable University” competition, jointly organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Environment.
The visiting delegation was received by Asst. Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, the University's Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, along with several directors of scientific and administrative departments and centers.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Al-Zuhairi delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting the university’s key environmental and developmental initiatives, showcasing their notable impact both locally and internationally. He also emphasized the university’s significant progress in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for sustainable development.
The purpose of the visit was to conduct an on-ground review of the environmental and developmental projects listed in the competition’s participation form, as well as the tangible initiatives implemented within the university campus. The field tour included various locations and projects that reflect the university’s strong adherence to environmental standards and sustainable practices.
The visiting committee included representatives from both the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Environment, headed by the Director of the Department of Entrepreneurial Project Management at the Research and Development Division of the Ministry of Higher Education. The committee members expressed their admiration for the quality achievements and impactful projects they observed, praising the university’s serious efforts and its positive engagement with the competition’s objectives.
