Al-Mustaqabal University Council Convenes Its Eleventh Session and Reaffirms Commitment to Academic and Infrastructural Excellence Date: 31/07/2025 | Views: 19

The University Council of Al-Mustaqabal held its eleventh session for the academic year 2024–2025, chaired by Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, University President, with the presence of vice presidents, deans, and council members, and with the participation of Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuheiri, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The session commenced with a speech by the University President, in which he expressed deep appreciation for the efforts of both academic and administrative staff throughout the institution. He praised the university’s significant achievements, including remarkable progress in global and national rankings, the activation of scientific research, organization of academic conferences, and the expansion of international partnerships. He also highlighted pioneering initiatives in sustainability and urban development that have resulted in upgraded infrastructure aligned with top global university standards.
Dr. Majdi also commended the excellent results achieved by several departments in the ministerial assessment exams, emphasizing the importance of finalizing graduation records and documentation on time. He stressed the need to intensify preparations for the upcoming academic year 2025–2026, and called for the formation of specialized committees in colleges to oversee safety and security procedures.
As part of strategic planning for the next academic year, the President urged council members to submit their academic plans, including research activities, academic initiatives, scientific workshops, and intellectual forums, in addition to the conferences approved by the Ministry of Higher Education.
Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuheiri delivered an analytical presentation on the status of scientific research at the university, addressing publication indicators in global databases such as Scopus and Clarivate, and the volume of publications in Q1 and Q2 indexed journals. He also discussed efforts related to sustainability, academic partnerships with prestigious universities, graduate employability programs, and the university’s positioning in various national and international rankings. The University President provided his guidance on these matters.
The council also listened to comments and proposals from the deans and vice presidents, and appropriate recommendations and actions were adopted accordingly.
The session concluded with a review of the listed agenda items and the adoption of resolutions aimed at maintaining the university’s trajectory of institutional excellence
