The Council of Al-Mustaqbal University, chaired by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of the University, and attended by the vice presidents, deans of colleges, and the University Secretary-General, held its first session for the 2025-2026 academic year. The meeting was dedicated to completing all organizational, administrative, and technical procedures to ensure a successful and advanced start that reflects the university’s status and meets the aspirations of students and academics.

At the beginning of the meeting, the University President emphasized the importance of utilizing all available resources to achieve a comprehensive developmental strategy, focusing on the implementation of the latest e-learning systems within the “Smart University” initiative. This comes in line with the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and in response to global digital transformation, with the aim of creating a modern educational environment that keeps pace with the years ahead.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of activating the plan to welcome new students and organizing the “Al-Mustaqbal Youth Sustainability Camp”, which will be held under the patronage of Governor Mr. Adnan Fayhan Al-Dulaimi, in early October 2025, at the Babylon Resort Park. The camp aims to strengthen national belonging, develop leadership skills, and implement scientific competitions, particularly the Artificial Intelligence Hackathon, designed to foster innovation and creativity among students.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the University President launched the “Smart University” initiative, which will officially start with the beginning of the academic year. The initiative seeks to modernize and develop all educational and administrative processes, achieve academic excellence, raise the university’s ranking locally and internationally, and embrace the digital and technological era as a fundamental pillar for the future of education.

Finally, the University President stressed the importance of teamwork and continuous coordination among all departments to realize the university’s vision and mission of building a leadership-oriented generation capable of facing future challenges by equipping them with essential knowledge and skills.
