The Council of Mustaqbal University held its eleventh session for the academic year 2024–2025, chaired by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of the University, with the attendance of vice presidents, deans, and council members, and the participation of Prof. Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision.

At the outset, the University President praised the dedicated efforts of the council members, faculty, and administrative staff, noting that these contributions have resulted in significant achievements, including:

Notable progress in global and local university rankings.

Activation of research activities and expansion of publications indexed in Scopus and Clarivate.

Organization of high-quality scientific conferences and workshops.

Strengthening international academic partnerships.

Excellence in sustainability initiatives and comprehensive infrastructural development in alignment with the standards of reputable global universities.

He also commended the outstanding results achieved by certain academic departments in the ministerial evaluative examinations, stressing the importance of completing exam grade records and graduate documentation within the specified timelines, while ensuring thorough preparations for the academic year 2025–2026. Furthermore, he emphasized the formation of specialized committees within colleges to oversee safety and security measures.

During the session, the President urged council members to develop comprehensive academic plans for the upcoming year, encompassing research activities, innovative initiatives, and scientific forums, in addition to preparing for the international conferences approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

For his part, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision delivered a detailed report on the status of research at the university, highlighting publication indicators in Q1 and Q2 journals, the university’s standing in international and local rankings, sustainability strategies, reinforcement of academic partnerships, and graduate employability programs. The President provided directives to further strengthen these initiatives.

The session concluded with the discussion of agenda items and the adoption of key recommendations aimed at advancing the university’s trajectory and reinforcing its reputation among prestigious institutions.
