Al-Mustaqbal University – College of Fine Arts is preparing to launch its artistic festival titled “When Art Draws the Courage of the Homeland,” in celebration of the Iraqi Army Day and Police Day. This national cultural event highlights the role of art as an aesthetic discourse that documents collective memory and embodies the values of courage and belonging. The festival will take place from January 10 to 12, 2026, during which the college halls will transform into an integrated artistic space featuring exhibitions of painting, sculpture, murals, design arts, ceramics, and handicrafts. The program will also include performances by chanting and national music ensembles, as well as artistic character representations, reflecting the diversity and integration of creative experiences. In a special statement, Professor Dr. Mazen Hadi Kazzar Al-Ta’i affirmed that the festival “is not a conventional art event, but rather a national message written in the language of beauty,” noting that “art here fulfills its highest role as a witness to the sacrifices of the nation’s protectors, and as a means to instill awareness of identity and belonging among younger generations through an artistic vision that merges authenticity with contemporaneity.” This festival comes as part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to supporting artistic and cultural movements and enhancing the presence of art within the academic environment as a powerful tool of expression and a repository of national memory. It contributes to reinforcing aesthetic and human values and granting national occasions a profound cultural dimension. Almustaqbal University, The First University in Iraq.
