Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the supervision of Asst. Lecturer Mary Imran Mahdi, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division, and presented by Asst. Lecturer Sorour Hafidh Mohammed / College of Agricultural Technologies, a workshop entitled “Water Is Life… Let Us Preserve It” was conducted. The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the importance of water and to highlight simple and effective methods through which we can preserve every single drop, because every drop makes a difference. It emphasized the pivotal role of women and families in fostering a culture of rational water consumption, as they are directly responsible for managing household resources. This role begins with changing daily usage habits and extends to monitoring maintenance issues such as leaks and adopting water-saving technologies to ensure water sustainability. Enhancing community awareness of the risks of water scarcity and climate change, as well as promoting optimal water-use practices, is a fundamental element in maintaining water and environmental security and in building a conscious society capable of confronting the challenges of diminishing water resources. This initiative comes in implementation of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security / Prevention and Protection Pillar, and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and Goal 13 (Climate Action). Al-Mustaqbal University — ranked first among private universities in Iraq.
