Introductory Seminar on Sustainable Development Goals for First-Year Students

and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Agricultural Technologies,
Prof. Dr. Mahdi Abdul-Kadhim Abd,
An introductory seminar on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was held for first-year students of the Department of Medical Plants Technologies and Natural Products, aiming to enhance students’ awareness of sustainable development concepts, their importance, and their role in the agricultural, environmental, and medical fields.
The seminar was delivered by Asst. Lecturer Abdullah Ali Kazem and Asst. Lecturer Rafal Fawzi Karim, who presented an overview of the most prominent Sustainable Development Goals, emphasized the importance of their application in both scientific and practical contexts, and highlighted their strong relevance to the specialization of medical plants and natural products.
The lecturers also stressed the pivotal role of students in contributing to the achievement of these goals in the future through scientific research, responsible professional practices, and supporting sustainable solutions that serve society and protect the environment.
This seminar comes as part of the department’s efforts to promote the culture of sustainable development and to instill its concepts among students, in line with modern scientific and developmental trends, further reinforcing Al-Mustaqbal University’s position as the leading private university in Iraq.
