Al-Mustaqbal University (جامعة المستقبل) has achieved a new qualitative academic milestone, reinforcing its advanced position in the higher education landscape. The university ranked first among Iraqi private universities and third nationwide among all Iraqi universities, according to the results of the global Webometrics Ranking, which included 128 public and private Iraqi universities. At the international level, the university recorded an exceptional leap in its global ranking, advancing from 3224 to 1967 worldwide, achieving a jump of 1257 positions in a single cycle. This significant progress reflects the rapid development of the university’s academic, research, and digital performance, as well as its growing presence in the global academic arena. This notable advancement is attributed to the integrated institutional efforts undertaken by the university to support rigorous scientific research, enhance academic publishing in internationally indexed databases, develop digital infrastructure, and improve the performance of its official websites and academic platforms, in line with the criteria of the Webometrics ranking. In this context, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, affirmed that this achievement is the result of collective work and a strong team spirit adopted by the university. He praised the outstanding efforts of the academic and administrative staff, noting that this progress serves as a strong motivation to continue excellence and attain more advanced positions in both local and international rankings. Dr. Majdi further explained that the university is moving forward with the implementation of its strategic plans aimed at enhancing the quality of education, developing high-quality scientific research, increasing international publication rates, and improving digital performance, all of which contribute to improving ranking indicators and achieving sustainable academic accomplishments that strengthen the university’s regional and international standing. It is worth noting that the Webometrics Ranking, issued by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), is one of the most prominent global university rankings. It evaluates universities based on their digital presence, quality of published scientific content, research impact, and academic openness, making it a key indicator of universities’ effectiveness in the global digital environment.
