Artificial Intelligence (AI) is regarded as one of the most significant technological developments of the twenty-first century, as it represents the ability of computer systems to simulate certain aspects of human intelligence, such as learning, analysis, and decision-making. This field has witnessed remarkable growth due to advances in computing power and the availability of large volumes of data, which has accelerated its applications across various sectors (Russell & Norvig, 2021). AI is involved in many everyday applications, such as recommendation systems in online stores, voice assistants, and image and facial recognition technologies. It has also become a fundamental component in the medical field by analyzing medical images and assisting in disease diagnosis, as well as in the transportation sector through the development of autonomous vehicles (Goodfellow, Bengio, & Courville, 2016). Artificial Intelligence relies on multiple technologies, most notably Machine Learning and Deep Learning. Through machine learning, systems learn from data and improve their performance over time without the need for explicit programming for every step. Deep learning is an advanced branch that depends on multi-layer artificial neural networks and has achieved impressive results in natural language processing and computer vision (Jordan & Mitchell, 2015). However, AI raises important ethical and social challenges, such as concerns related to privacy, algorithmic bias, and its potential impact on the labor market. Recent studies have emphasized the need to establish regulatory and ethical frameworks to ensure the responsible use of intelligent technologies (Floridi et al., 2018). In conclusion, Artificial Intelligence is not merely a passing technology; rather, it represents a fundamental transformation in the way knowledge is produced and decisions are made. When applied responsibly and thoughtfully, it has the potential to bring about a significant shift across various aspects of life.
