Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Asst. Prof. Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, with follow-up and oversight from the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems, headed by Prof. Dr. Mahdi Abadi Maan, and the Department of Cybersecurity, headed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Kazem Al-Ghurabi, a scientific workshop was held under the title: “Preparing University Students to Participate in the NURAI 2026 Championship for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.” The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members and students of the university. It aimed to prepare students both theoretically and practically for active participation in the NURAI 2026 Championship by introducing them to the competition’s themes, team requirements, and mechanisms for developing artificial intelligence and robotic systems in line with modern technological standards. The workshop also sought to enhance students’ innovation, teamwork, and analytical thinking skills. The workshop included a guidance session on methodologies for building prototypes, problem analysis, and developing smart solutions, in addition to clarifying the security aspects related to the design of digital systems — reflecting the integration between the Intelligent Medical Systems and Cybersecurity specializations in supporting student projects. The event witnessed remarkable academic interaction from attendees, with numerous inquiries and proposals that contribute to improving the readiness of student teams for effective participation and honorable representation of the university in the championship. At the conclusion of the workshop, emphasis was placed on the importance of empowering students to engage in scientific and technological competitions and supporting initiatives that help refine their skills and enhance the university’s presence in innovation-oriented forums. This activity aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly: Goal 4: Quality Education Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals reflecting the university’s commitment to fostering an educational environment that supports innovation and technological entrepreneurship.
