Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, and as part of the University’s efforts to keep pace with legislative developments in cyberspace, the Training and Employment Division at the College of Law organized a scientific seminar entitled:
“Intellectual Property Law in the Digital Age”
The seminar was held at the College Hall in the Humanitarian Building. It was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Abbas Hammad from the College of Law, who highlighted the legal challenges facing copyright and related rights in light of the technological boom and artificial intelligence.
The lecture addressed several key themes, most notably:
Legal Protection Mechanisms: for digital works, software, and databases.
National and International Legislation: and the extent to which it aligns with modern methods of infringement in the online environment.
The Role of Graduates: in promoting legal awareness to protect innovation and digital entrepreneurship, in line with the objectives of the Training and Employment Division in preparing a legal generation well-versed in the requirements of the modern labor market.
This event reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s mission to activate its academic role in serving the community and developing students’ skills in a way that ensures the protection of creativity and innovation in Iraq.
