achieved a remarkable academic accomplishment by ranking first among private universities in Iraq and sixth out of 76 Iraqi public and private universities included in the ranking, according to the 2026 results of SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR). This achievement reflects the university’s rapid progress in academic and research performance and reinforces its position within the higher education system. The SCImago ranking is considered one of the most prominent international classifications that evaluates the performance of universities and research institutions based on objective indicators, including research productivity, innovation, and societal impact, relying on reputable global scientific databases. At the level of scientific disciplines and subject areas, the university recorded a distinguished presence by achieving advanced rankings among Iraqi universities as follows: Mechanical Engineering: 1st place Building and Construction Engineering: 1st place Business Administration and Accounting: 2nd place On this occasion, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, stated that this achievement reflects the outcome of sustained institutional efforts to support scientific research, promote high-quality academic publishing, and develop the academic environment. He emphasized that the university continues to pursue its strategic plan to enhance its position in global rankings and strengthen its presence among leading universities at both the regional and international levels.
