As part of efforts to strengthen and develop higher education, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, a member of the Private Higher Education Council, participated in the sixth session of the Private Higher Education Council. The session was held on March 4, 2026, at Al-Zahraa University (AS) in the city of Karbala, chaired by Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahad, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs. The meeting was attended by several directors general and senior officials from the Ministry, in addition to a number of presidents of private universities in Iraq. The session highlighted discussions on several important topics related to admission and registration procedures in private universities, focusing on mechanisms and regulations required to ensure the smooth implementation of these processes. Discussions also addressed the establishment of medical colleges and the importance of providing a competitive educational environment aligned with international standards. Another important topic discussed during the meeting was tax regulations and institutional requirements that universities must consider to ensure the success of the educational process. The council also praised the tangible scientific achievements of private universities, which contribute significantly to the development of higher education in Iraq. This meeting represents an important step toward strengthening coordination between private universities and the Ministry, helping to improve the quality of education and provide better opportunities for students. Such sessions serve as an effective platform for exchanging views and ideas regarding the future of higher education, reflecting the commitment of all stakeholders to achieving high-quality education aligned with the requirements of fourth-generation global universities.
