With confident steps toward a green university environment, and embodying the spirit of giving and environmental responsibility, the College of Engineering Technology at Al-Mustaqbal University launched today, March 14, 2023, a wide-scale tree-planting campaign. This initiative came with a sustainable vision and great dedication from the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, to implement purposeful environmental initiatives, transforming the campus into a large volunteer workshop with active participation from academic departments and the Sustainability Ambassadors students in their distinctive uniforms, under the patronage and supervision of the University President, Professor Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi. With diligent follow-up by the Dean and the participation of academic departments and the Sustainability Ambassadors—the implementing body under the supervision of the Volunteer Work Unit and the Student Activities Division—the event consisted of a tree-planting campaign aimed at expanding green spaces. The College of Engineering Technology has consistently organized such initiatives on various occasions to strengthen environmental identity. The campaign covered different areas of the campus at Al-Mustaqbal University, with seedlings planted and roles distributed among volunteer teams to highlight the spirit of cooperation while adhering to environmental standards in planting. The initiative aims to spread the culture of environmental preservation, with the achieved objectives forming an integral part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 13 (Climate Action) and Goal 15 (Life on Land). Al-Mustaqbal University is the foremost among private universities in Iraq.
