As part of its ongoing efforts to improve the university environment and develop students’ personal skills, the Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries organized a specialized awareness workshop titled “Effective Communication Among Students,” which targeted various groups of students in the department to promote constructive dialogue on campus. The workshop for first-year students was led by Assistant Professor Zainab Hassan Ali, while Assistant Professor Nour al-Din Saad Abis oversaw the workshop for third-year students, in a move aimed at tailoring the educational content to the age-specific and academic needs of each academic stage. The workshops featured a comprehensive review of the concept of effective communication as a fundamental pillar of university life, with a focus on its pivotal role in building bridges of trust and cooperation among peers. This activity serves as a practical step toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by ensuring a comprehensive and safe learning environment, as well as advancing Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by instilling values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence and reducing instances of violence or conflict within the educational institution.
