On Thursday, March 26, 2026, the College of Law at Al-Mustaqbal University organized an interactive webinar via Google Meet titled “The Importance of Smart Education in the Digital Transformation of Iraqi Universities,” presented by Associate Professor Nasif Jassim Mohammed Al-Karaawi. The workshop highlighted the fundamental transformations taking place in the higher education sector in the age of digitalization and addressed how smart education enhances the quality of academic and administrative performance through the use of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing, which supports the development of education, scientific research, and student services. The workshop also addressed Al-Mustaqbal University’s pioneering experience in implementing digital transformation across various aspects of university operations, emphasizing that the transition to a digital environment has become a necessity to keep pace with the demands of the modern era and to support the efficient production of knowledge. The workshop also discussed the most significant challenges facing Iraqi universities in their digital transformation journey, including weak infrastructure, the need to train staff in digital skills, and the importance of strengthening cybersecurity and enacting supportive legislation. The workshop saw remarkable engagement from participants, who enriched the discussion with their contributions and questions, emphasizing the importance of continuing such academic activities to support and develop higher education in Iraq. This workshop is part of a series of academic events organized by the College of Law to raise awareness of the latest technologies and support the digital transformation process in educational institutions.
