Dean of the College of Law at Al-Mustaqbal University Participates in a Specialized Workshop on the Legal Dimensions of Artificial Intelligence

Prof. Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law at Al-Mustaqbal University, the legal dimensions of artificial intelligence technologies during his participation in the specialized workshop titled “Guide to the Use of Artificial Intelligence,” which was held in the Student Activities Hall in the Medical Building on the morning of Monday, March 30, 2026. In his lecture, Dr. Al-Husseini addressed the most prominent legislative challenges arising from the rapid spread of these technologies, focusing on issues of personal data protection and the legal liability for damages that smart systems may cause to individuals and institutions. He explained that certain acts resulting from the misuse of artificial intelligence can be legally classified under the provisions of the current Penal Code, particularly those related to cybercrimes, privacy violations, and electronic forgery, emphasizing that the current legislative framework faces an urgent need to keep pace with this rapid technological transformation. The workshop was attended by a number of college deans, their deputies, and heads of academic departments. Dr. Al-Hussein’s presentation contributed to enriching the discussion on the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence, as he emphasized the importance of establishing clear regulatory frameworks to ensure the safe and responsible use of these technologies at both the institutional and national levels. This participation underscores the role of the College of Law at Al-Mustaqbal University as an active contributor to raising legal awareness of developments in digital transformation and its ongoing efforts to establish a proactive legislative culture in the higher education sector.
