In a pioneering move that reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s spirit of leadership and global openness, a high-level delegation led by the Dean of the College of Engineering Technology, Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, and the Director of the Energy Research Center, Dr. Sulwan Obeid, participated in the 18th edition of Solarex Istanbul 2026. This visit coincided with the university’s participation in the Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE) 2026 in Istanbul.
The visit, which has been ongoing since April 4th, included in-depth field tours to explore the latest global technologies in renewable energy, especially high-efficiency solar panels, smart energy storage systems, and green hydrogen technologies. The delegation also held fruitful meetings with leading international companies and specialized institutions to explore avenues for joint cooperation and knowledge transfer to Iraq, further establishing the university’s position at the heart of the global innovation landscape.
This participation comes as part of the university’s strategy to develop the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Energy Research and update applied research projects in line with rapid technological developments. These efforts contribute to creating innovative solutions for the local energy sector, in harmony with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Dean affirmed that this participation is a true reflection of the university administration’s vision to empower academic staff to keep pace with technological leaps and enhance the integration of engineering education with the demands of the global labor market—making Al-Mustaqbal University a leading name in innovation and scientific research at the level of Iraq and the region.
