College of Engineering Technologies excels in Iraqi Universities Debate 2026

In its ongoing pursuit to enhance education quality and refine students’ skills, the College of Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the fourth group competitions of the “Iraqi Universities Debate Championship,” held on 7 April 2026, with the participation of Al-Mashriq and Samarra Universities. This participation aimed to develop students’ critical thinking and constructive dialogue skills, as well as to refine their abilities in public speaking and logical argumentation, in line with academic excellence requirements and the promotion of a culture of accepting different opinions within modern scientific debate standards. The competition featured distinguished academic debates, in which Al-Mustaqbal University students demonstrated strong competence in defending their viewpoints through a structured and interactive approach, following the latest approved standards in debate practices. The university team was represented by a group of outstanding students, including student Omar Hussein Naji from the Department of Computer Engineering Technologies, who contributed to presenting a distinguished image of the department and the college in accordance with university quality standards. The event witnessed notable academic and student attendance, creating an interactive atmosphere and rich discussions that contributed to developing participants’ intellectual and communication skills, alongside careful monitoring by organizing committees regarding evaluation procedures and results. Al-Mustaqbal University confirmed that participation in such competitions contributes to building students’ personalities and supports the university’s strategies in promoting a culture of dialogue and improving the level of education and extracurricular activities, in line with modern academic developments and standards locally and internationally.
