The Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries at the College of Engineering / Al-Mustaqbal University organized a scientific workshop on Sunday, April 12, 2026, titled “Engineering Thinking and Effective Problem Solving.” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Hassan Ali in Hall No. (1) of the new engineering building. It aimed to develop analytical thinking skills and enhance students’ ability to address problems in a systematic way.
The workshop covered the concept of engineering thinking and its importance in dealing with scientific and practical challenges, with a focus on methods of problem analysis, identifying root causes, and developing appropriate solutions through structured steps.
It also presented a range of practical applications to help students improve decision-making skills and teamwork, contributing to the enhancement of their academic and professional competence.
The workshop witnessed active participation from students through discussions and interventions, which helped deepen their understanding of systematic thinking mechanisms and their application across various engineering fields.
This workshop comes as part of the department’s efforts to develop students’ skills and improve the quality of education, in line with the requirements of preparing engineering cadres capable of innovation and efficient problem solving.
