The Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries at the College of Engineering / Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness workshop on Sunday, April 12, 2026, titled “Summer Training for First-Year Students.” The workshop was delivered by Engineer Ahmed Abbas and Assistant Lecturer Zainab Hassan Ali in Hall No. (1) of the new engineering building. It aimed to introduce students to the importance of summer training and its role in developing their practical skills. The workshop addressed the application process for summer training opportunities and the key requirements needed, in addition to highlighting the most important skills students should acquire during the training period, contributing to enhancing their experience and linking theoretical knowledge with practical application. It also focused on the importance of making the most of the training period to develop professional capabilities and become familiar with the engineering work environment, while providing a set of guidelines to help students maximize the benefits of their training experience. The workshop witnessed active engagement from students through discussions and inquiries, which contributed to raising their awareness of the importance of summer training in building their academic and professional careers. This workshop comes as part of the department’s efforts to prepare qualified students equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to enter the labor market, in line with achieving quality education and strengthening the practical aspect of engineering disciplines.
