As part of the activities of the “Fourth Al-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week” at Al-Mustaqbal University, the Engineering Technical College organized, on April 14, 2026, a distinctive march that embodied synergy among various scientific departments and their students, under the theme “Life on Land” (Sustainable Development Goal 15). The event was held under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and with the support of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd.
The march witnessed wide participation from students and faculty members, and included visits to the natural reserve and the House of Research (Guest House) within the university campus. Participants were introduced to the efforts made in preserving the environment and biodiversity, as well as promoting sustainable practices and a spirit of cooperation.
Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of the University, praised this initiative, expressing his appreciation to the Engineering Technical College, its staff, and students. He emphasized the importance of such activities in strengthening environmental sustainability concepts and building a generation aware of environmental issues in line with modern higher education trends.
The college affirmed that this activity contributes to enhancing environmental awareness among students and developing a sense of responsibility toward nature, supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals, particularly Goal 15 (Life on Land).
This activity comes ضمن a series of Sustainability Week events, reaffirming the role of Al-Mustaqbal University as a leading private university in Iraq in supporting environmental initiatives and promoting sustainability concepts, enhancing its academic standing and contributing to the achievement of its strategic goals at both academic and community levels.
