In a remarkable creative achievement, second-year students from the Department of Design at the College of Fine Arts, AL-MUSTAQBAL University — Mohammed Baqir, Al-Murtadha Haider, and Fatima, along with their team — secured third place in the Architecture and Arts Hackathon, organized by the College of Fine Arts as part of the Fourth International Future Sustainability Week 2026.
The recognition was awarded for their outstanding project, “Bayt Al-Hikma,” a contemporary cultural coffee house concept that integrates spaces for reading, relaxation, and artistic expression, offering a comprehensive environment that combines intellectual engagement with aesthetic experience.
The project was inspired by the world of fashion and arts, translating the fluidity and elegance of fabric lines into modern architectural forms. This approach created a dynamic spatial identity that reflects creativity, innovation, and the harmonious integration of art and architecture.
The project was developed under the supervision of Engineer Roaa Ali Younis and Programmer Sarah Faiq Ali, whose mentorship contributed significantly to refining the concept and achieving a professional outcome.
The hackathon featured strong competition among diverse and high-quality projects, evaluated by specialized academic committees according to rigorous criteria, highlighting the event’s professional standards and significance.
This achievement reflects the excellence of students at AL-MUSTAQBAL University and emphasizes the institution’s commitment to fostering creativity and innovation, preparing students to excel in the fields of architecture and the arts both locally and internationally.
