The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, accompanied by the Dean of the College of Engineering Technology, Assistant Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, inaugurated the scientific booths of the academic departments at the Energy Research Center at exactly 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. This event was part of the activities of the Fourth Future Sustainability Week at the university. The delegation was welcomed by the student sustainability ambassadors and faculty members from various departments. During their tour, the President and the Dean reviewed the contributions of students and faculty, which included scientific posters, graduation projects, and innovative models reflecting ideas that help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as highlighting scientific and technical efforts supporting environmental issues. The President and the Dean praised the participants for their active contributions, expressing their gratitude and appreciation for everyone’s role in making the week’s activities a success and emphasizing the importance of fostering innovation and teamwork to serve sustainability objectives. The college affirmed that such activities contribute to developing the scientific and research skills of students and faculty, and raise awareness of the importance of sustainability, in line with the requirements of academic and technological advancement. This initiative is part of a series of activities for Sustainability Week, reaffirming Al-Mustaqbal University’s — the leading private university in Iraq — role in supporting innovation and embedding sustainability concepts, thereby enhancing its academic standing and contributing to the achievement of its strategic goals.
