“Mandela Monument” Project Earns Second Place for AL-MUSTAQBAL University Students

Mustafa Abdulrasool and Firas Kadhim, second-year students from the Department of Design at the College of Fine Arts, AL-MUSTAQBAL University, achieved second place in the Architecture and Arts Hackathon, held during the Fourth International Future Sustainability Week 2026. Their project, titled “Mandela Monument,” showcased an innovative architectural vision that successfully combined aesthetic and functional dimensions. The design reflected a contemporary interpretation of monumentality, emphasizing symbolism and structural strength, resulting in a distinctive architectural identity. The project was supervised by Engineer Roaa Ali Younis and Programmer Sarah Faiq Ali, who contributed to refining the project and enhancing its final outcomes. This achievement further demonstrates the excellence of AL-MUSTAQBAL University students in architecture and design fields. Almustaqbal University, The First University in Iraq.
