Head of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries participates in the Higher Education Conference to support innovation

A delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University attended the Higher Education Conference on activating the role of Industrial Advisory Councils and Science and Technology Parks in Iraqi universities on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The conference was held under the theme “Knowledge Economy: Entrepreneurial Universities and a Sustainable Economy” for the period April 14–15, 2026. The delegation included Professor Dr. Alaa Dhari Jawad, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries; Assistant Lecturer Dr. Samir Ibrahim Badrawi, Director of Cultural Relations; and Assistant Professor Dr. Taisir Samir Jaaz, Head of the Department of Aviation Technologies Engineering. The conference praised Al-Mustaqbal University’s role in establishing a technological incubator for artificial intelligence, considering it an important step toward supporting innovation and digital transformation. Attendees also listened to a speech by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Haider Abdul Dhahd, who addressed several key topics, including the Bologna Process, industrial advisory councils, science and technology parks, smart education platforms, and the transition of universities toward fourth-generation institutions that foster innovation and sustainability. The conference also featured panel discussions with the participation of several officials, including the Advisor to the Prime Minister for Entrepreneurship, the Director General of the Human Development Department at the Ministry of Planning, the Director General of the Studies and Planning Department, and the Assistant Director General of the Research and Development Department. These sessions highlighted several successful experiences from Iraqi universities.
