Al-Mustaqbal University Achieves First Place as the Distinguished University of 2022 and 2023<br /><br />At the Award Ceremony for the Day of Science, held under the auspices and presence of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Al-Mustaqbal University was honored with the First Place Award as the Distinguished University of 2022 and, again, as the Distinguished University of 2023. The ceremony was organized by the Research and Development Directorate on Monday, December 30, 2024.<br /><br />In his speech during the event, His Excellency the Minister emphasized the commitment to enhancing and advancing the pathways of scientific research, global publication, and postgraduate programs. The ceremony was attended by senior ministry officials, university presidents, the head of the Academics’ Union, deans, faculty members, researchers, and students.<br /><br />The event included a speech by Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi, Director General of the Research and Development Directorate, where she presented the scientific outputs submitted and the award criteria. The ceremony concluded with the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, honoring the recipients of the Day of Science Awards. The awards covered several categories, including Best University, Distinguished Research Center, Distinguished Research Unit, Distinguished Scientific Journal, Distinguished University Library, Distinguished Scientific Research, Outstanding Voluntary Teamwork, Best Authored or Translated Book, Distinguished Patents, Distinguished Scientific Magazine, Outstanding Graduation Project, and Distinguished Researcher.<br /><br />In his remarks, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, highlighted that achieving first place as a distinguished university resulted from the dedicated efforts of the university’s researchers and faculty members. He emphasized the increase in the publication of high-quality research indexed in Scopus and Clarivate, the university’s top rankings in the Iraqi National Classification, and its prominent positions in global rankings. This recognition adds to the series of awards and accolades the university has garnered on both national and international levels.
