<br />The phenomenon of student dropout is one of the prominent issues faced by educational systems worldwide, especially in developing countries. This phenomenon refers to students discontinuing their studies before completing the prescribed academic stages, leading to negative consequences for individuals and society as a whole. Therefore, research efforts must be directed towards studying the factors influencing its occurrence, whether they are economic, social, psychological, or educational, in order to identify and analyze the underlying causes of this issue and assess its impact on the future of individuals and their ability to integrate into society and the labor market. Additionally, prevailing trends among dropout students, such as the most vulnerable age groups and the characteristics of the socio-economic environment contributing to the increased likelihood of dropout, should be identified. The goal is to develop practical recommendations for policymakers and the educational community (ministries, universities, colleges, and professors) to reduce this phenomenon and establish a more inclusive and sustainable educational system that fosters and ensures quality education.<br /><br />Student dropout is a highly significant issue due to its direct and indirect negative consequences, such as increased unemployment rates, reduced job opportunities, and exacerbating issues like poverty and crime. Furthermore, it negatively impacts society by reducing the quality of human capital and productivity. To address this critical issue, enhancing financial support for families, particularly through scholarships for low-income households, is necessary to alleviate the economic burden. Educational programs should be strengthened by creating academic and psychological support programs for students, improving the infrastructure of educational institutions, and encouraging community involvement through local community support for education through awareness campaigns. Modern technology should also be used in education to bridge the educational gap between the domestic and international levels, alongside the implementation of flexible, comprehensive educational policies that meet the needs of at-risk groups.<br /><br />Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Focus:<br /><br />The goal of addressing the issue of student dropout aligns closely with the objectives of sustainable development, particularly in achieving Quality Education (SDG 4) by ensuring inclusive and equitable education for all. It also supports the reduction of poverty (SDG 1), the promotion of equality (SDG 5), and social justice (SDG 10), ensuring that opportunities for education are provided fairly, with a focus on improving the quality of education for all groups in society, including marginalized and economically disadvantaged communities.
