Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majid, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law, the College of Law at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a scientific symposium on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, entitled "The Spread of Begging in Iraqi Society."<br />The symposium featured lectures by:<br />Dr. Ali Hamza Namrood<br />Dr. Ali Jasim Al-Saadi<br />Asst. Lecturer Waleed Khalid<br />The speakers discussed the key driving factors behind this phenomenon, including the consequences of wars that left behind a large number of orphans and widows in Iraqi society. They also presented a future vision to address this issue through national legislation and by activating the role of social welfare in eliminating the phenomenon.<br />The symposium also explored the social, economic, and psychological causes contributing to the spread of begging, as well as its negative impact on society. A number of legal and social remedies and solutions were proposed.<br />The event witnessed remarkable attendance from faculty members and students of the college, who actively participated in the discussions and contributed valuable insights.<br />This activity comes as part of the College of Law’s participation in the third edition of Al-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week Festival, in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 1 (No Poverty) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).<br />Al-Mustaqbal University – The Top University in Iraq.<br />
