Cell phone towers emit electromagnetic radiation used to transmit signals between mobile devices. This radiation is classified as non-ionizing radiation, meaning it does not carry enough energy to ionize atoms. The potential physical effects associated with it include:

1. Thermal Effects
Radiation may cause a slight increase in the temperature of living tissues during close and direct exposure, due to the absorption of electromagnetic energy, which is determined by multiplying the frequency by Planck’s constant. However, most studies indicate that these effects are minimal and harmless under normal exposure conditions.

2. Electrical Stimulation of Nerves or Muscles
In extreme cases of exposure to low-frequency waves (such as those used in radio broadcasting), nerve or muscle stimulation can occur. However, this generally does not apply to the frequencies used in mobile phones (GHz range).

3. Electromagnetic Interference
Cell towers may interfere with the operation of certain sensitive medical devices (such as pacemakers) if in very close proximity. Therefore, maintaining a safe distance is advised.

4. Potential Cellular Changes
There is currently no conclusive evidence that radiation from towers causes direct harm to cells or DNA. However, some studies suggest the possibility of minor biological changes that require further research to confirm any health implications.

"AL_mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq"

al-mustaqbal University Website
