Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Prof. Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, the College of Law organized a panel discussion entitled: "The Role of Commercial Advertising in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals", on Monday, 20/10/2025, at the College Hall – Humanities Building. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Abdulrahman Abdullah Al-Sarraf, a faculty member at the College of Law, who discussed the importance of commercial advertising in promoting community awareness and reinforcing behaviors that support sustainable development, as well as its role in guiding consumers toward responsible economic and environmental choices. He explained mechanisms for employing advertising to support sustainable development goals, particularly in encouraging innovation, rationalizing resource consumption, and preserving the environment. The lecturer emphasized that responsible and conscious advertising is an influential tool in building a society that recognizes its environmental and developmental responsibilities, calling for the adoption of a media discourse that promotes sustainability values and achieves a balance between economic, social, and environmental objectives.
