Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Prof. Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, the College of Law organized a panel discussion entitled: "The Role of Holding Companies in Enhancing Economic Development", on Saturday, 11/10/2025, at the College Hall – Humanities Building.
The seminar was delivered by Dr. Naseef Jassim, a faculty member at the College of Law, who discussed the pivotal role holding companies play in supporting the national economy through the management and organization of multiple investments, enhancing the efficiency of resource allocation, and supporting strategic projects. He also highlighted the importance of adopting modern administrative structures that contribute to increasing corporate competitiveness in local and global markets, as well as creating job opportunities and stimulating economic growth.
The lecturer emphasized that holding companies represent one of the key pillars in building a sustainable economy, due to their role in directing investments toward vital sectors and achieving a balance between profit-oriented and developmental objectives. He also pointed to the need for supportive legal frameworks that contribute to the development of these companies and the enhancement of their developmental role.
