Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, the College of Law organized a panel discussion titled “The Role of Administrative Control in Environmental Protection” on Saturday, 8/11/2025, in the college hall – Humanities Building. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ghathwan Ali Hussein, a faculty member at the College of Law, who addressed the important role played by administrative control in protecting the environment through implementing preventive measures to safeguard public health, reduce polluting practices, and ensure compliance of individuals and institutions with effective environmental legislation. He also highlighted the importance of developing administrative control tools and methods to enhance its effectiveness in addressing growing environmental challenges. The lecturer emphasized that the regulatory and preventive role of administrative control constitutes a fundamental pillar in achieving environmental sustainability, noting the necessity of supporting administrative bodies with appropriate legislation and qualified staff to ensure effective environmental protection and achieve a balance between development and environmental considerations.
