Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Prof. Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, and as part of the College of Law’s activities in combating extremist ideology, the College organized a panel discussion entitled “The Culture of Tolerance and Prevention of Extremist Ideology: The Role of Universities in Promoting It,” on Monday, 24/11/2025, at the College Hall – Humanities Building. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ali Jasim Al-Saadi, a faculty member in the College of Law, who discussed tolerance as a fundamental human value and the role of academic institutions in instilling this culture among students and the wider community. He also reviewed preventive approaches to confronting extremist ideology, the importance of enhancing students’ intellectual and dialogical awareness, and the role of universities in fostering an educational environment based on respect for diversity and the rejection of violence and extremism. The lecturer also highlighted the need for integrated efforts among educational, cultural, and legal institutions to develop effective awareness programs that contribute to limiting extremism and promoting a culture of societal peace. He further emphasized the importance of adopting educational and intellectual policies that reinforce openness and moderation and protect young people from extremist ideas.
