Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Prof. Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, and as part of the College of Law’s activities in combating intellectual extremism, the College organized a panel discussion entitled “Intellectual Extremism in the Digital Age: Challenges and Approaches to Confronting It”, on Tuesday, 25/11/2025, at the College Hall – Humanities Building. The session was delivered by Asst. Lecturer Weam Fadel, a faculty member in the College of Law, who discussed the concept of intellectual extremism in light of digital development, explaining the impact of electronic platforms and social media in spreading extremist ideas and attracting young audiences. She also reviewed the major challenges facing educational and community institutions in limiting this type of extremism, as well as the importance of enhancing digital awareness and intellectual resilience among students. The speaker highlighted the need for coordinated efforts among educational, security, and cultural institutions to establish effective preventive strategies that help counter digital extremism. She emphasized the importance of adopting educational and media policies that promote critical thinking, support community peace, and protect youth from being drawn into extremist content.
