Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, and within the activities of the College of Law and the Committee for Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance, the College organized a panel discussion titled: “Ethics of the Psychological and Educational Counseling Profession”, held on the morning of Wednesday, 3/12/2025, in the college hall – Humanities Building. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Abdulrahman Abbas Adain, a faculty member at the College of Law, who reviewed the legal and ethical framework of the psychological and educational counseling profession, emphasizing the importance of adhering to professional and ethical standards in counseling practices within educational institutions. He also addressed the legal and educational responsibilities of the counselor to ensure a healthy and safe learning environment, and highlighted the impact of counseling in supporting students and enhancing their academic and behavioral development. The seminar also discussed the main challenges faced by counselors in applying professional ethics, the importance of activating legal and community initiatives supporting psychological and educational counseling, and the counselor’s role in promoting positive values and effective communication with students within educational institutions. At the conclusion of the seminar, the lecturer stressed the need to adopt effective training and awareness programs for psychological and educational counselors, and to support efforts aimed at improving the educational environment and ensuring the psychological and social well-being of students, thereby contributing to enhancing educational quality and reinforcing sustainable development.
