The College of Fine Arts at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a workshop titled “Empowering Women and Enhancing Their Role in the Academic Environment,” attended by Dr. Mary Imran, Head of the Women’s Affairs Committee at Al-Mustaqbal University; Assistant Lecturer Mi’ad Aboud Al-Bawi, representative of the Humanitarian Organization for the Defense of Democracy and Women’s Rights; and Assistant Lecturer Suhaila Kazem Jassim, Head of the Women’s Affairs Committee at the College of Fine Arts.
The workshop included discussions on mechanisms for supporting women within educational institutions, strengthening their leadership participation, and presenting initiatives aimed at raising community awareness of women’s rights and empowering female students in artistic and creative fields.
This workshop comes in line with the fifth Sustainable Development Goal (Gender Equality), which seeks to empower women and ensure their effective participation in decision-making positions within the community and the university.
Al-Mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq.
