Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, Respected, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, Respected, and as part of the activities of the College of Law in the fields of sustainable development and human rights, and in cooperation with the Human Rights Division, the College organized a panel discussion entitled: “Challenges to the Right to Work in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.” The panel was held on Tuesday, 23/12/2025, in the College of Law Hall – Humanities Building. The panel was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ruaa Khalid Al-Maamouri, who addressed the most prominent legal challenges posed by the rapid development of artificial intelligence to the right to work and its impacts on the labor market, emphasizing the importance of legal texts in protecting workers’ rights and ensuring a balance between technological advancement and social justice. The panel also reviewed the national and international legal frameworks related to the right to work, highlighting the role of legislation in addressing the emerging challenges imposed by artificial intelligence and the necessity of updating laws in line with international human rights standards to ensure the protection of affected groups. At the conclusion of the panel, the lecturer emphasized the importance of raising legal awareness among students regarding the right to work amid digital transformations, and the role of law in keeping pace with technological development and achieving sustainable development, thereby contributing to building a just and balanced society that respects human rights.
