Engineer Rand Maen Ahmed The architecture of the Internet is undergoing a fundamental transformation with the rapid expansion of cloud networks, which have become a core component in operating modern digital services and managing data on a global scale. These networks have contributed to reshaping how the Internet is built and how services are delivered, by shifting processing and storage centers from traditional local servers to geographically distributed cloud infrastructures. This transformation has led to improved performance efficiency and reduced latency, as cloud networks enable the distribution of content and services through data centers located closer to users. This enhances browsing experiences and improves service stability, especially with the widespread use of live streaming applications, e-commerce, and e-learning. Cloud networks have also enhanced the flexibility of the Internet, allowing organizations to scale their technical resources up or down according to demand without costly investments in physical infrastructure. This has supported innovation and accelerated the launch of new digital services. In addition, technologies such as edge computing have contributed to reducing the load on centralized networks and improving data transmission efficiency. On the other hand, these transformations pose growing challenges related to information security and data privacy, as well as increased dependence on cloud service providers. This necessitates the establishment of policies and technical standards to ensure service continuity and data protection. Technology experts agree that cloud networks will continue to play a pivotal role in the future of the Internet, as they represent a cornerstone for building smarter and more flexible networks capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments of digital transformation.
