When art chooses to become a homeland, and when colors gently rest upon the shoulders of memory to narrate the story of courage, Al-Mustaqbal University – College of Fine Arts opens its doors to a festival that resembles nothing but the homeland itself, under the slogan “When Art Draws the Courage of the Homeland,” in celebration of the Iraqi Army Day and Police Day, those who wrote the history of the land with their blood and guarded the dream so it may remain alive.
This festival is not a fleeting event, but rather a visual poem written with thread, letter, and color. This is how Professor Dr. Mazen Hadi Kazzar Al-Ta’i perceives it, affirming that art here transforms into a testimony of belonging and a living memory that immortalizes the sacrifices of the nation’s protectors, within an integrated artistic program running from January 10 to 12, 2026, where the exhibition becomes a space of loyalty and a visible, unforgettable identity.
Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and with the participation of faculty members and students, carpet threads intertwine with the pulse of letters to weave artistic works that speak the language of الوطن, reinterpreting courage through a visual language rich in symbols and meanings, as if every artwork were an anthem and every color a promise.
In this context, mural art professor Hani Azab Al-Kuraity emphasizes that this technique is not merely an artistic tool, but a bridge between past and present, an open dialogue between memory, land, and the present moment, offering artists a vast space for experimentation and granting younger generations the opportunity to see the homeland through the lens of beauty and express it with genuine creativity.
It is a festival where art is not only displayed, but celebrated as a homeland itself. Here, the painting becomes a prayer, the letter a banner, and courage a story told in the pure language of beauty, embodying the vital role of culture and the arts in building conscious societies and strengthening national belonging.
