Heterochromia is a condition affecting the iris, impacting its color. The iris acquires its distinctive color under the influence of melanin pigment, which is present in this part of the eye. It manifests as variations in the color of a person's iris. Either one eye's iris will be a different color than the other, or a single iris may be two or more different colors simultaneously. Heterochromia arises from certain changes in the melanin pigment present in the iris due to various factors. This condition is usually not accompanied by any symptoms other than the color difference. Heterochromia typically does not require any medical intervention University of Al-Mustaqbal – The First and Leading Private University
