As part of the academic activities aimed at raising environmental awareness, Instructor . . Istabraq Aref Mohammed delivered a scientific seminar entitled “The Role of Chemistry in Environmental Protection”, attended by a number of faculty members, students, and individuals interested in environmental issues. The seminar highlighted the importance of chemistry in reducing environmental pollution and its role in developing environmentally friendly technologies, such as wastewater treatment, control of industrial emissions, and the application of green chemistry principles that contribute to minimizing the use of hazardous substances and conserving natural resources. The seminar also emphasized the role of scientific research in providing sustainable solutions to contemporary environmental challenges. During the seminar, the speaker stressed the necessity of strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and industrial sectors, as well as promoting environmental awareness among students and the wider community, in order to achieve a clean and safe environment for future generations. The seminar concluded with an open discussion session, allowing participants to raise questions and share insights, which enriched the seminar topics and encouraged the exchange of ideas on environmental protection from a scientific and practical perspective.
