The Department of Biochemistry at the College of Science organized a student workshop titled "Climate Change and the Future of Generations", presented by the department’s lecturer Dr. Asil Amer Hadi, with the participation of a group of students and individuals interested in environmental and health issues.
The workshop addressed the most pressing global environmental challenges. Dr. Hadi discussed the impact of climate change on the environment and public health, highlighting the potential risks to future generations if effective measures are not taken to reduce harmful emissions and prevent the depletion of natural resources.
The workshop also emphasized the role of youth and students in raising environmental awareness and promoting sustainable practices. Dr. Hadi stressed that climate change is not merely an environmental issue but a comprehensive challenge affecting health, the economy, and education, requiring coordinated scientific and societal efforts to address it effectively.
Interactive sessions and Q&A discussions were held between the lecturer and the students, during which participants expressed their appreciation for the valuable information provided. They emphasized the importance of such events in broadening their scientific knowledge and fostering critical thinking toward environmental protection and safeguarding the future of generations.
The workshop concluded with practical recommendations to mitigate climate change, alongside the distribution of participation certificates to all attendees. This initiative aims to enhance active student involvement in scientific and cultural activities within the college.
