The Department of Biochemistry at the College of Science organized a student workshop titled "Solid Waste: An Environmental Issue and Possible Solutions", presented by Dr. Karrar Majeed Obeid, with the participation of students and individuals interested in environmental and health issues. The workshop addressed the main challenges related to solid waste management and its impact on the environment and public health. Practical solutions and strategies were presented to reduce the harm caused by waste accumulation, including recycling, safe disposal, and raising environmental awareness among community members. Interactive sessions and Q&A discussions were held between the lecturer and the students, during which participants expressed appreciation for the valuable information provided. They emphasized the importance of such events in expanding their scientific knowledge and encouraging creative thinking to solve environmental problems.
