As part of the university’s commitment to supporting extracurricular activities and promoting sports as a fundamental pillar in building students’ personalities, a five-a-side football championship was held between the College of Science and the College of Physical Education at the indoor sports hall.
This championship was organized in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, as well as Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, aiming to encourage students to adopt a healthy lifestyle, enhance teamwork, and strengthen the spirit of fair and positive competition among participants.
The matches were characterized by enthusiasm, high competitive spirit, and sportsmanship, reflecting the students’ strong commitment and their ability to balance academic excellence with physical activity. The event also witnessed positive interaction and support from attendees, creating an encouraging and vibrant sporting atmosphere.
The championship was held under the direct supervision and follow-up of the course coordinator, Dr. Aseel Amer Hadi, who emphasized the importance of organizing such sporting events in developing students’ physical and psychological abilities, fostering cooperation between university colleges, and promoting a positive and healthy university environment.
At the conclusion of the championship, appreciation was expressed for the successful organization and active participation, with an emphasis on continuing to hold similar sports activities and tournaments due to their significant role in supporting sustainable development concepts and enhancing students’ overall well-being within the university campus.
