Students of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Participate in an Awareness Campaign on the Dangers of Prolonged Sitting in Support of SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) Under the supervision of Mr. Zaid Saad Abdul Madi, PhD, Head of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy, a number of students from the department participated in an awareness campaign aimed at highlighting the health issues associated with prolonged sitting and promoting preventive measures, as part of their community role in spreading health awareness. The campaign included providing scientific guidance on the negative effects of prolonged sitting on the musculoskeletal system, such as back and neck pain, muscle weakness, and joint disorders, as well as emphasizing the importance of physical activity in maintaining overall health. Students also demonstrated simple exercises that can be performed during work or study periods and offered advice on proper sitting posture and body alignment, helping to reduce health risks associated with a sedentary lifestyle. This initiative is part of the department’s efforts to enhance practical skills among students, link academic knowledge with real-life applications, and contribute to community service by raising health awareness across various segments of society.
