Technological advances in the last decade have led to the emergence of advanced interactive technologies, most notably augmented reality, which integrates digital elements with the real world in real time. With this deep integration of the digital and physical worlds, new cyber risks have emerged beyond traditional threats to information systems. Hence the importance of studying cybersecurity in the era of augmented reality to ensure the safety of users and protect their data Augmented reality is a technology that allows virtual elements (images, texts, 3D models) to be added to the real environment using devices such as smartphones, smart glasses, or specialized helmets. Augmented reality relies on multiple technologies such as computer vision, positioning systems, and sensors, making it a complex environment in terms of technical and security structure Cybersecurity refers to a set of procedures and technologies designed to protect systems, networks, and data from digital attacks or unauthorized access. In the context of augmented reality, the importance of cybersecurity is compounded by the sensitivity of circulating data, such as location data, live images, and daily behaviors of users Augmented reality applications face a number of cyber threats, most notably: • Privacy violation: Collecting sensitive data without the user's knowledge or consent. • Malware attacks: Exploiting application vulnerabilities to introduce malicious software. • Augmented content manipulation: altering or forging the default items displayed to the user. • Espionage and location tracking: exploiting location technologies to track users. • Infrastructure Attacks: Targeting Servers Or Communication Networks That Support Augmented Reality Applications Enhanced reality represents a promising future for interaction between man and technology, but its success and sustainability depend largely on the level of cybersecurity applied in it. Seriously dealing with security threats, and developing advanced data protection and privacy solutions, is essential to building a secure and reliable augmented reality environment Al-Mustaqbal University, the first Iraqi private universities
